As a preacher I have noticed that I'm at my very best when I have a hungry encouraging audience. I can literally feel the anointing being drawn from the Spirit's ministry through me.

There is something about hunger for spiritual realities that creates a level of anointing that creates an atmosphere of faith. Look at our text today:

Acts 13:42 So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.

Wow! They were BEGGING for the word of God to be preached. When people are hungry for the word of God there comes a response from heaven that brings a whole new spiritual reality with it. Remember the woman with the issue of blood? 12 years of bleeding along with exhausting her financial resources created a spiritual hunger and drive for drawing on Jesus in order for her to be healed. Of course Jesus responded to this desperation and she was healed because of her FAITH.

Once when preaching in the Solomon I was charged by the audience as the hunger levels of the audience overode their personal sense of dignity and miracles began to break out as the wind of the Spirit blew across the meeting. One woman who had been born with a club foot was supernaturally healed as she lay on the floor under the power of the Spirit. It was a glorious moment.

Let Jesus words encourage us all today that we will never be disappointed if we foster a spiritual hunger for God and His righteousness - Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Amen
