The Best Marketing Campaign of All

Pastors and church leaders are always looking for better ways to make people aware of their church activities and happenings.  In recent times we have adopted many techniques for mass awareness.

Obviously we have technology today that was not available to Jesus and the early church leaders. But guess what? Nothing we use today compares with the effectiveness and rapid spread of the gospel 2000 years ago!  It's called WORD OF MOUTH.

Acts 13:49, "And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region."

A great product will always speak for itself.  The happy motorist will blab to his friends on how good his wheels are - offer his friends an opportunity to experience a drive down the road.  The happy patient who has been helped immensely will highly recommend their doctor to others. Why?  Because it is so personal to them.

When people experience God, as the early church did, they could not help but SPREAD THE WORD OF THE LORD.  Perhaps we should be focusing less on marketing strategies and more on mobilising the body of Christ toward genuine ENCOUNTERS with God?  If our members are not happily sharing their faith and what God is doing at our church, then maybe we have a bigger problem?

A marketing problem? Nope - more like a discipleship issue....  

Psalms 34:8, "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!"
