The first time I ever had a go at indoor bowls (at a fun event - I'm not that old yet!) I bowled the ball right off the mat! Why? I got the BIAS the wrong way around. Each bowling ball is weighted to turn in a certain direction. As you roll it out of your hand - it will automatically turn in the direction of the weighted bias in the ball.
And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, "I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will." Acts 13:22
I believe our verse today gives us the key to staying centered in God. God chose David as a king because his BIAS, his heart was fixed on pursuing God's desires, God's agenda, God's plans for his life! The moment King David strayed from having a heart after God he got himself into deep trouble - the internal BIAS turned the wrong way with disastrous consequences.
If we keep our hearts desires, our internal affections, stayed and centred on Jesus - we will have much more success as someone known to do "All of His will". Let's finish with a powerful proverb that nails our subject today: Proverbs 14:14 The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways, But a good man will be satisfied from above.
